Hi! I'm Stylianos Syropoulos, but feel free to call me Stelios! I'm a graduate student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst

I am a in my fourth year of graduate school at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am a member of the Psychology of Peace and Violence Program (Social Psychology Division), under the supervision of Dr. Bernhard Leidner (War & Peace Lab). I study the psychology of peace and violence. Specifically, I am interested in the antecedents and consequences of intergroup conflict, national identity, and on better understanding what makes us feel (un)safe (personal/perceived safety). I  also conduct research on environmental decision making, particularly within the context of climate change.
